Koherence assists its clients through a range of services including technology ecosystem evaluation, prototyping, and product development. Depending on a client’s needs, Koherence can operate as a standalone technology provider or work in concert with a client’s product teams.

Some of the projects Koherence has engaged in include concept development for DIIVA, a next-generation AV transmission standard, proof-of-concept development of a whole home DVR solution, and in-home and out-of-home streaming of broadcast content to mobile devices.

Mike Minakami

Mike founded Koherence in 2006, bringing a history of innovation and leadership in the fields of digital media and consumer electronics. Prior to starting Koherence, Mike was on the founding team of TGC, a consumer electronics startup developing DVR products and services for the Greater China markets. He was ultimately responsible for TGC’s US engineering organization and company-wide technology strategy. Mike also served in a number of engineering and management roles at TiVo and Silicon Graphics. At both he worked closely with both internal product and engineering teams as well as key partners and vendors to enable clients to realize best-in-class products and solutions. A strong advocate of OTA digital television, Mike also kickstarted TiVo’s high-definition television projects in the early 00’s. He saw it from a skunkworks effort to the launch of the first commercially available HD DVR. Mike delights in the challenges of designing and developing products that push the envelope of possibility and enjoys working with clients bringing cutting edge solutions consumers.
